We offer a wide variety of activities to keep residents minds and bodies active. We actively encourage participation for intellectual, creative, educational and social benefit. When a new resident comes into the home, we assess their personality and likes to accurately match them to another resident with similar interests to form a friendship.
We have a magic table which is an interactive sensory table projecting moving objects onto surfaces. This can be used on duvets for residents bedbound as well as on tables, floors, walls and ceilings in communal areas. Our residents really enjoy this activity and respond well to it, thus keeping their brain stimulated.
We have active involvement with two local schools who come to visit us with letters, gifts and they often sing some songs for the residents enjoyment.
Residents enjoy regular visits from our pet therapy dog which usually brings up a talking point of past pets and stories relating to animals. This activity is of great sensory and emotional benefit for our residents and they look forward to it.
On a monthly basis, we have live singers who come to perform all the greatest hits from our residents era and our residents sing, dance and shake their maracas to the music.
Our residents enjoy visits from local churches who come to sing carols and carry out church services.
